Occasionally when there
is a notable change in the cost of travel, the IRS will alter the mileage rates
for the remainder of the year. With the increases in costs relating to
vehicles and travel this year the IRS has issued new standard mileage rates
for the remainder of 2022. These rates begin on July 1, 2022, and apply to the
use of a car, van, pickup, or panel truck.
- 62.5 cents per mile for
business miles driven (up from 58.5 cents in the first half of 2022).
- 22 cents per mile for medical
purposes (up from 18 cents in the first half of 2022).
- 14 cents per mile driven in
service of charitable organizations (no change from the first half of
2022).
